Learn about partnershipsIMPAKABSAT is not just a trade fair. It is the Cordillera Administrative Region's most significant annual platform for putting its finest products, enterprises, and cultural heritage in front of the national market. For five days every year, the highlands come to the city, and what they bring has been getting more impressive with every edition.
The 34th IMPAKABSAT Cordillera Regional Trade Fair opens on July 1, 2026, at Shangri-La Plaza, EDSA corner Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City, and runs through July 5. The theme this year is Heritage Meets Innovation, a framing that captures exactly what the Cordillera's best enterprises have always done: take something rooted in generations of tradition and find the way to bring it forward.
If you are in Metro Manila between July 1 and 5, this is the five days to go and see what Northern Luzon is building.
What IMPAKABSAT Is
The name itself carries meaning. IMPAKABSAT stands for the Cordillera's six provinces and one city: Ifugao, Mountain Province, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, and the City of Baguio, completed with the Ilocano word "kabsat," meaning brother or sister. Together, the name means the best of all of us.
IMPAKABSAT is the flagship trade exhibition of DTI-Cordillera Administrative Region, and it is the biggest trade exhibit of the DTI-CAR featuring the products of micro, small, and medium enterprises to help in marketing, linkage, and sales. The fair has been running annually for more than three decades, with past editions hosted at Festival Mall in Alabang and SM City Baguio before returning to Shangri-La Plaza for the 2026 edition.
The track record speaks for itself. In 2024, the IMPAKABSAT regional fair at Festival Mall in Alabang drew participation from more than 90 exhibitors, with DTI-Cordillera targeting PHP 30 million in sales, a conservative figure based on the previous year's actual sales of PHP 36 million. IMPAKABSAT is not a prestige event without commercial substance. It is one of the region's most productive annual sales and market access events.
Heritage Meets Innovation
The 2026 theme is a deliberate statement about the direction the Cordillera's enterprise ecosystem is taking.
Heritage is not the past for the Cordillera. It is a living competitive advantage. The weaving traditions, indigenous agricultural systems, cultural practices, and geographic identity of the region's communities give Cordillera products an authenticity and provenance that no enterprise outside the region can replicate. That is heritage as market differentiation, not heritage as nostalgia.
Typical products at IMPAKABSAT include traditional weaving in styles specific to each province, beads and accessories, local coffee, heirloom rice, fruit and vegetable-based products, woodcrafts, furniture, and indigenous food products, all representing the distinct cultural identity of the communities that produce them. For the 2026 edition, Tatak Abreño products from Abra have already been confirmed as part of the exhibitor lineup, with provinces across the region preparing their own provincial product delegations.
Innovation is what makes that heritage commercially sustainable. The heirloom rice, the highland coffee, the woven textiles, and the indigenous crafts are not being sold in the same form they have always been sold. The enterprises that succeed at IMPAKABSAT are the ones that have found how to present what is culturally distinctive in a way that meets the expectations of a Metro Manila consumer audience in one of the country's premium retail environments.
Why Shangri-La Plaza Is the Right Stage
Shangri-La Plaza spans over 70,000 square meters with more than 300 shops and restaurants and has been one of Metro Manila's premier retail destinations since it first opened in 1991. It is a venue that positions the products exhibited there at the premium end of the market, in front of consumers with both the purchasing power and the cultural appreciation for high-quality, authentically produced goods.
The return to Shangri-La Plaza for the 34th edition signals a deliberate positioning choice. The Cordillera's best products belong in the country's best retail environments. The enterprises participating in IMPAKABSAT 2026 have earned that stage through the quality of what they produce and the years of enterprise development that DTI-CAR and its partners have supported.
What the Cordillera Brings
The exhibitors representing Ifugao, Mountain Province, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, and Baguio City each carry the distinct product identity of their province into the fair.
From Ifugao: heirloom rice varieties grown in UNESCO-recognized terraces, along with traditional woven products and indigenous food items rooted in centuries of highland agriculture. From Kalinga: woven textiles using patterns specific to each community, along with coffee and other highland agricultural products. From Benguet: highland vegetables, strawberry-based products, and craft items tied to the province's temperate agricultural identity. From Mountain Province: weaving traditions specific to its communities, along with indigenous food and craft products. From Abra: Tatak Abreño products confirmed for the 2026 lineup. From Apayao: MSME products representing the province's natural resource base and indigenous crafts. From Baguio City: the full creative and food enterprise output of the Cordillera's urban center, including the innovation-forward food and design enterprises that have emerged from the city's growing startup ecosystem.
For Consumers, Buyers, and Ecosystem Builders
For individual consumers in Metro Manila, IMPAKABSAT is direct access to products that are genuinely difficult to find in the national retail market outside of this annual window. For buyers, institutional purchasers, hotel and restaurant procurement officers, and specialty retail buyers, it is the most efficient sourcing event of the year for Cordillera-origin products that have been vetted through the DTI and PHILEXPORT development system.
For entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem builders interested in the Cordillera's enterprise landscape, five days on the floor of IMPAKABSAT provides more direct intelligence about the region's product development trajectory and MSME capacity than most research reports can deliver. The enterprises that show up, the products they bring, and the conversations they have at Shangri-La Plaza this July will shape the Cordillera's market development story for the months that follow.
Thirty-four editions in. Heritage meets innovation. July 1 to 5 at Shangri-La Plaza.
