Benguet State University Opens Technology Promotion Mentoring Series for Innovators and Researchers
The Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program – Project 7 Regional Knowledge Management Hub of Benguet State University is inviting researchers, technology generators, students, incubatees, MSMEs, and innovation stakeholders to join the Technology Promotion Mentoring Series (TPMS) 2026. The free three-day program will help participants strengthen their ability to communicate, present, and promote research-generated technologies.

Helping Local Technologies Move From Research to Adoption
Developing a technology is only one part of the innovation journey.
For research-generated technologies to reach farmers, businesses, communities, and potential investors, innovators also need to communicate what their technology does, who it serves, and why it matters.
The Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program – Project 7 Regional Knowledge Management Hub of Benguet State University (BSU) is addressing this need through the Technology Promotion Mentoring Series (TPMS) 2026.
The free mentoring series will be held from September 1 to 3, 2026, at the RSDC Executive Hall, College of Human Ecology Building, Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The program is designed for technology generators, faculty members, researchers, students, incubatees, alumni, MSMEs, and other innovation stakeholders across the Cordillera.
From Technology Profiling to Pitch Development
TPMS 2026 will focus on four areas that can help innovators communicate their technologies more effectively:
Technology Profiling
Participants will learn how to clearly present the important features, applications, and potential of their technologies.
IEC Material Development
The program will help participants develop information, education, and communication materials that make technical innovations easier for their intended audiences to understand.
Promotional Video Production
Participants will explore how video can be used to communicate technologies and demonstrate their potential applications.
Technology Pitch Development
Innovators will strengthen their ability to present their technologies clearly and confidently to potential users, partners, investors, and other stakeholders.
Through interactive lectures, workshops, and expert mentoring, the program aims to move participants beyond simply describing their research toward effectively communicating its value.
Technology Transfer Requires More Than a Good Idea
A technically strong innovation can struggle to gain adoption if potential users do not understand its benefits.
This makes technology promotion an important part of the technology transfer process. Researchers need to communicate not only what they developed but also the problem it solves, the users it serves, and the opportunity it creates.
For student innovators and researchers preparing technologies for commercialization, these skills can also become important when developing startup pitches, engaging potential partners, participating in innovation competitions, or presenting research to industry.
In this sense, technology communication becomes a bridge between research and real-world impact.
A Regional Opportunity for Cordillera Innovators
The mentoring series also creates an opportunity for participants from different parts of the Cordillera to connect with fellow researchers, entrepreneurs, technology generators, and innovation stakeholders.
The program is particularly relevant to the region’s growing innovation ecosystem, where universities and research institutions continue to develop technologies addressing agriculture, food systems, natural resources, and other local challenges.

Hybrid Participation Available
TPMS 2026 will offer a hybrid participation option for those who cannot travel to Benguet State University.
However, technology generators are highly encouraged to attend onsite to maximize the mentoring experience and participate fully in the workshop activities.

Northern Luzon has a strong base of universities and research institutions developing technologies for agriculture, natural resources, food production, and other regional challenges.
